It is not possible to continue with your game if you are currently playing the old version and try to update to this new version, your only option is to continue play the old version or start over.

As many have been told before, you must download the patch from THIS OP or you'll play an older version of the game. To people having problem finding the new Pokemon or evolving to new evolutions such as Togetic or Magmortar:The version that's uploaded elsewhere on the Internet IS NOT the most up to date version and you will NOT be able to get the newly added Pokemon if you play that game.
